Genuine Fraud – e. lockhart – Mystery, Suspense Are you looking for a page turner? This is it! The story opens with 18-year-old Jule West Williams living a life of luxury at a resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Jule is athletic, friendly, smart. On the outside, she’s a wealthy heiress with time and money to burn, or so it would seem. On the inside, she’s a well-trained fighter with a shady past, always looking over her shoulder, ready to run and change her looks at a moment’s notice. Jule spends time with her charismatic friend, Imogen Sokoloff, who loves Victorian novels and running from her problems by traveling the world. Both are orphans. One was adopted into money, the other was not. However, their lives have become intertwined. One survives, the other does not. Told in reverse chronological order, this novel will keep you guessing until the end, or should I say the beginning, for the story begins at the end and ends at the beginning. I had to keep checking back on chapters I’d read to get the story straight. Is Jule the heroine of the villain? You will need to decide for yourself.
